This mountain range was named after its resemblance to the organ pipes brought from Europe for the churches in the colonial times. The road from Rio to Serra dos Orgãos offers wonderful views of the mountains from different angles. On this two-day tour for experienced hikers, we go up the Park's highest peak, Pedra do Sino (Bell Rock - 7400ft) and explore the Park's complete biodiversity. The trail starts at 3600ft and follows switch-backs for 11 kilometers for approximately 5 hours, up to the Mountain Lodge at 7000 ft. At heights above 5000ft, the vegetation changes from tropical Atlantic Forest to drier High Field Meadows. From the summit we enjoy the view of the other 15 peaks in the same mountain range, including the famous Dedo de Deus (God's Finger).

Itinerary
Day 1
- Pick-up at the hotel, get primary instructions and fill the agreement form
- 1 hour drive to the Park's upper headquarters at 1100 meters
- Bird watching in a suspended bridge on the top of the trees
- 5 hour hike to the Mountain Lodge near Pedra do Sino at 2263 meters
- Dinner and overnight stay at shared rooms
Day 2
- Early hiking to the summit of Pedra do Sino (2263 ms) for the sunrise;
- Five-hour hike back to the Park's upper headquarters
- Drive to the Park's lower headquarters.
- Lunch at the restaurant outside the park;
- Short trails to Soberbo river pools and waterfalls
- Return to Rio around 8pm.
