I had a tour that not only met, but exceeded my expectations. Not only was Pat super knowledgeable, but very personable. I was on the tour alone which sometimes can be a bit awkward with someone you don't know, BUT within 5 minutes I felt very comfortable and had the best day exploring El Tigre. I was discouraged by many to not take a tour and to do this on my own and I'm SO glad that I spent the money and did the tour! It was worth every penny!

  • From Buenos Aires: Tigre Delta Tour with Boat Ride

    5. From Buenos Aires: Tigre Delta Tour with Boat Ride

Seeing the Delta means appreciating the bounty of nature in this extraordinary place that is impossible to ignore. Leaving Buenos Aires we will head for this natural paradise. Sail along the Tigre Delta and its islands. The life of the "isleños" (people who live on the islands of the Delta) is very special. Learn about their customs, culture and way of life. See the elegant residences located in the residential neighborhoods of the northern suburbs. Visit San Isidro neighborhood where you will learn about its history and people. On the way back to Buenos Aires, we will pass by the Presidential Residence of Quinta de Olivos. You have the option on the return to be dropped off at Puerto Madero which has many fine restaurants.

This tour is basically just a transfer to a boat ride and back. The return does not drop you at your hotel but nearby. The actual delta is interesting and worth a visit if you want a change from downtown Buenos Aires. But you could just take a train to Él Tigre and organise a boat trip once there - would be much cheaper.
