Cala Gonone: Gulf of Orosei Dinghy Excursion with Skipper

1. Cala Gonone: Gulf of Orosei Dinghy Excursion with Skipper

Every day we depart from the port of Cala Gonone at 9:00 am or 10:30 am for a beautiful dinghy excursion in the Gulf of Orosei.(12 people onthe boat). Our advice is to opt for the earliest departure so as to minimize the time of boarding and leaving the port, which is less busy at 9 am. The Captains, experienced guides who will give you a detailed and interesting explanation during the sailing, will take you to the most beautiful and picturesque beaches (you will see them all) : Cala Luna , Cala Sisine, Cala Biriola, Le Piscine di Venere, Cala Mariolu, and Cala Goloritzè. (During the beach stops it will not be possible to stay on board due to organizational needs of the Captain) . Leaving port, our captains will conduct a coastal navigation to allow you to admire up close the wonders of the stretch of coastline from Cala Gonone to Cala Goloritzè. During the navigation, our dinghies will be able to get close to many of the wonderful caves and inlets along the coast, such as Grotta dei Cormorani, Grotta Azzurra, the Cathedral and the Turquoise; in some you will also be able to swim inside. This will be followed by a stop at Cala Biriola, a delightful little beach with a pinkish color and emerald-colored water, and a leisurely swim at anchor in the heavenly, crystal-clear waters of the Piscine di Venere, continuing then to the wonderful Cala Goloritzè where you will make another stop for a swim very close to the natural arch adjacent to the beach. Back on board, the captain will set course for Cala Mariolu where you will make the longest stop of the day so you can eat, rest and bathe for about 2 1/2 hours (or more, particularly with the 9:00 a.m. departure). During lunch you can use the umbrellas (each 2 people) that you can ask the captain for before disembarking. In the afternoon you will resume sailing to reach the beautiful Cala Luna, which is even more pleasant in the afternoon as it is very crowded until 2 p.m. Here guests can stop for 2 hours for a refreshing swim. Return to port for this type of dinghy excursion is scheduled for 17:30 pm. N.B. if you start at 9.00 a.m. you will make 8,5 hours of excursion. If you start at 10.30 you will make 7 hours.

Arbatax: Gulf of Orosei Boat Trip to Cala Luna

3. Arbatax: Gulf of Orosei Boat Trip to Cala Luna

Embark on a picturesque journey along the Gulf of Orosei from Arbatax and marvel at some of Sardinia's most beautiful coves, many of which are only accessible by sea. Have the chance to take a guided tour of Fico Cave and/or enjoy lunch on board for an extra cost on the day. As you leave Arbatax harbor behind, admire Isolotto d'Ogliastra's vibrant colors of pink granite and red porphyry. Just after passing Santa Maria Navarrese, see the limestone-dolomite rock of Pedra Longa, the "guardian" of the treasures and secrets of the area, rising steeply from the sea.  Continue past the spectacular Baus waterfalls and through the Colombi cave and Cape Monte Santo until you arrive at two stunning fjords: Cala Scirocco and Cala Tramontana. In the latter, hear the tragic story of a Levante vessel whose remains can be glimpsed in the transparent waters of the seabed. Next, head to the extraordinary Cala Goloritzé and admire its characteristic arch, where the beach and the sea appear like a painting. After leaving this slice of maritime Eden behind, you'll arrive at Cala Mariolu. Here, you can disembark and enjoy the beach — with umbrellas available to rent from the boat — or take a guided tour of the Grotta del Fico (Fico Cave). Pay the entry fee, then explore the cave's unique limestone formations and hear how they were once the realm of the Mediterranean monk seal. Once back on board and the navigation resumes, head to the welcoming dining room to enjoy a zero-kilometer appetizer of local cheeses and cured meats. Savor prosciutto, guanciale, and coppa strictly from the area while immersed in the wild beauty of the Baunei coast. But the highlight of the onboard lunch is the fregola with seafood, prepared with a seafaring recipe from Ponza passed down through generations. Get an authentic taste of the sea as the squid and calamari sauce blends with the exquisite flavor of crabs, enriched with mussels and prawn tails. Enjoy a glass of Ogliastra wine with the main course before concluding with a slice of "sapa" cake with walnuts and seasonal fruits for dessert. Lunch is not included in the tour price. After this fulfilling culinary experience, you'll arrive at the beach of Cala Luna, where you can disembark and relax in one of the most picturesque places in the Tyrrhenian Sea. Later, as the route is reversed, the motorboat provides the exciting experience of Cala Sisine beach. This is also a stop where you can disembark. The tour then concludes by returning to Arbatax harbor.

Motorsailer Dovesesto

8. Motorsailer Dovesesto

The DOVESESTO is a nearly 100-year-old ancient sailing ship at anchor in the port of Cala Gonone. From here she departs daily at 10:30 a.m. for a mini-cruise in the Gulf of Orosei, exploring the coast's most beautiful beaches and caves along the "Wild Blue" route. Check-in at 10 a.m., bring your lunch. Just outside the harbor, the sailing ship will skirt the impressive limestone cliffs eroded by the sea. Its gait allows a close view of the different rock and forest scenery that follow one another, interspersed only by the many coves: Cala Luna, Cala Sisine, Cala Biriola, Le Piscine di Venere, Cala Mariolu, Cala Goloritze. Leaving Cala Luna, we arrive at Cala Sisine, after an hour of navigation. Continuing on, the first stop awaits us, Cala Biriola, a delightful, small, rose-colored beach. The sailing ship Dovesesto from the bottom anchors, so you can reach the beach by tender or by swimming to shore in the emerald water of radiant transparency. After about two hours, the boat heads for Cala Mariolu not before making a brief stop, to dive into the heavenly waters of the Piscine di Venere. It is at Cala Mariolu or Cala dei Gabbiani, two gulf pearls of indescribable beauty that our guests will enjoy the longest stop of the day. We resume navigation and arrive at the base of the Aguglia, an imposing elongated rock that stands alone from the sea, and we will admire up close the spectacular natural arch of Goloritze of the beach of the same name. Just north of the latter cove we stop to reach by dinghy the hidden mouth of a cave, only to find ourselves inside, dazzled by never-before-seen plays of light. Here the plunge is impossible to give up. Our goal is to present and show you the best way to admire our beautiful gulf from Cala Gonone to the last and wonderful beach of Cala Goloritze before Capo Monte Santo. Returning, the sailing ship sets the bow homeward, a little offshore, on the route where dolphins often come to greet us with their leaps.

Very nice well organized trip. The beaches are great. A bit crowded, but others want to see them too. But you can lie down. The trip was something with rough seas. But the captain handled the waves well. Cala Luna could not be approached due to the weather. But that's the weather. The organizer can't help it. Snacks, coffee and soft drinks are available on the boat. To have seen my beer too. Crew very friendly. We would do the trip again.

It was super nice! Even though we were a mixed group, the guild made sure she spoke in both German and English, such that everybody was able to enjoy the experience and understand the explanations about various objects from the road. We even went to the Sorgenti su Gologone afterwards, which wasn't part of the trip, but the guid went out of her way to take us there to enjoy some nice spring water

The experience was more than worth it. The crew has been very kind, they spoke about every cave, mountain formation, beaches. I recommend it!

Great bays, beaches and a well-chosen route :) Anytime again - you have to see Cala Luna in particular!

A very nice and interesting excursion with a very knowledgeable guide!
