Full description
Your driver will pick you up at your hotel or your home address in Nice at 8:00 AM, at which point you will depart in an air-conditioned car to the hills of your countryside destination. You will cross the "gorge of the wolf", complete with its 40-meter-high waterfall, before stopping at Castellane. Whilst traveling along the Verdon (named for its astonishing turquoise green color), you will be able to enjoy spectacular views of the 700-meter-deep canyon. Afterwards, you will move on to the village of Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, nestled under a rocky cliff and surrounded by mountains from all sides. Known for its rich history in ceramic craftsmanship, you will have free time here to explore Moustiers at your leisure. You can discover the earthenware in the many stores, and buy souvenirs before lunch in one of the terrace cafes. Afterwards, photograph the world famous lavender platters, or enjoy the lake of St. Croix, an artificial treasure of clear and pure water which is one of the most beautiful lakes of Provence. After enjoying your trip, you will return to your vehicle at which point you will be driven back to your point of origin in Nice.

Great services but there was no lavender fields to see, as it was out of the season (they should tell us that). And the guide skipped the best spots for viewing the Gorges of Verdon. We did not know when we would have time for lunch as the clear planning is not said. NOTE it did not take 10h. It was 8 at max.

This trip was an outstanding one and I enjoyed every moment. My guide was Raphël and he did a superb job of explaining everything we saw. I was picked up exactly on time at my appartment. Raphaël’s English is perfect. My trip was solo and I feel a very good value. I suggest this for single or a couple. This does not mean a larger group would not be good, just more one on one time with a smaller group.

Overall, a great activity. Beautiful scenery and landscape. Of course the lavender fields, the sunflowers, and the Verdon Gorge were beyond amazing. HOWEVER, this activity was about 3-4 hours TOO LONG. I am not sure why we took the long way to get there, and then silly stops. Both just added unnecessary time. Then we met up and traveled with another tour van, which I don't understand... especially when one of their participants did not return at the scheduled time after lunch. So our group (who did all arrive on time), was forced to wait and wait... and wait. Finally deciding to leave this participant behind, we started off again. (SIDE NOTE: the other tour driver, left his group UNATTENDED in the lavender fields to drive back to get this disrespectful participant. This participant should be made to pay a portion of our tour!) How you can delay a group of 15 people for one disrespectful person is beyond me.
