Covid-19 Update

Due to health and safety regulations, this itinerary may change. See Know before you go for the latest updates.

Travel just 4 miles (7 kilometers) south of Jasper to the end of Whistlers Road to arrive at Jasper SkyTram. Time your visit for an early morning or evening flight to avoid crowds and take advantage of the best light for photos.

After you exchange your voucher at the reservations window for a ticket, climb aboard the enclosed tram car for a 7.5-minute ride to the upper station. Your tram ride will ascend to an elevation of 7,425 feet (2,263 meters). A guide will accompany you on your trip, sharing insights about the area, history, and wealth of wildlife. Once at the top, take a stroll on the boardwalk for breathtaking views of Jasper National Park, the town of Jasper, turquoise-colored lakes, mountain ranges, and the Athabasca River Valley. Try hiking Whistlers Summit Trail to reach the top of Whistlers Mountain at 8,081 feet (2,463 meters) for a 360° view of six mountain ranges, including Mount Robson, the highest mountain in the Canadian Rockies.

Before you leave for your trip down the mountain, enjoy a coffee and light snack at the top of the Canadian Rockies. Visit the gift shops at the upper or lower stations to purchase a souvenir that will always remind you of this trip.

Alex was our operator on the ride up. He was courteous, knowledgeable and funny. You can tell he loves Jasper and loves his job. It made all the difference. You can’t find a view like that anywhere. It was fast and safe. Weather conditions were perfect. Beautiful and great value for what you pay.

We went up on the first time available! We had clear sky’s. It snowed over night and we attempted the hike to the summit but did not have poles or our spikes for our shoes. It was very slippery so we heard down. It clouded in and started snowing. We enjoyed a coffee at the top. On a clear dry this would be amazing! The views incredible!

The skytram experience was great. However, we were told by the skytram team that their hours were until 9 pm on the day we booked our tour. When that date came, the hours were changed (without our notice) and we had to book the next available spot which was 10 am the next morning. Even though we booked with a third-party vendor, I wish the skytram team told us about the recent hour change or at least gave us a heads up.
