We appear to have been very lucky in that the day we booked the ballon was actually flying … I noticed that many of the days leading up to our trip it was cancelled so I had no idea if it would actually happen as we only had the one window of opportunity one morning between other booked tastings . As it happened we arrived at 10.30 am and walked straight in and onto the balloon and it was very quiet and a lovely clear day so we did really enjoy our short flight with a glass of champagne …. It was great for getting our bearings for a short visit to Epernay and ticked and experience off the bucket list .

Nice view over the grape bushes in the area. And nice view over Epernay. We were very lucky with a clear blue sky, a sun and grape bushes in autumn colors. Because of my fear of heights, I thought it took quite a while to stay up, but according to my partner, that was not the case. You go up in about 1 minute, stay in the air for about 10 minutes (about 150 meters) and then down again for a minute. We did not take champagne with it, because it was in the morning and before that we had had a tasting at Moët. Located centrally in Epernay next to a car park.
