Full description
Your tour departs Aberdeen and heads straight for the ‘Whisky Capital of the World’, Dufftown. Unfortunately it's too early in the morning to taste the whisky at the Glenfiddich Distillery, but you have time to take a photo of the iconic site and grab a coffee. Venture through the heart of Speyside and arrive at Loch Ness for an optional boat trip which is bookable via your guide on the day of the trip. Onboard the ship, you travel over the widest and deepest part of the loch and get a fine view of Urquhart Castle. Upon your return back on dry land, it’s time to travel deep into the past at Clava Cairns. This spot is situated in a gorgeous green grove and boasts well-preserved ancient burial tombs. They even say this spot was the inspiration for Outlander’s Craigh na Dun. Follow this up with a trip to Culloden Battlefield, the location of the final Jacobite Rising. It’s an eerie, flat, tragic landscape that can put the history of Scotland into perspective. The interactive exhibition center here really brings it all to life. Have a comfort break within the gorgeous Cairngorms National Park before you reach Aberdeen 8:00 PM.

It was a great tour. Alice was very kind and of a nice, happy mood, making the time on the road very short, very informative and interesting. She gave individual advice of what to see and visit at the stops, but not only then, she also pointed out several buildings or nice scenery during driving. The timing between driving and making stops was perfect. The bus was great with much space and perfect view on the landscape and road. The tour was planned in such a way that I could enjoy the entire trip. Even if it was a long way to and from Loch Ness, it never felt like this and I enjoyed everything. The weather was for Scotland quite good, but still, I could enjoy the stops even during some rain shower. There are many options to do. I personally mostly liked that the tour and the guide were so nature-oriented and that Alice had an eye for nice things to point out. Furthermore, the national characteristics (music, history, language) rounded off the tour perfectly. Thanks a lot!

We had a blast driving throug the highlands with Neil. The tour was amazing, we got to see amazing landscapes, castles, ruins, Cullodden battlefield, Loch Ness and the place that inspired the outlander series the Clava Cairns. Our guide Neil had alot of interesting facts and information about everything we saw along the tour. He told us about jacobites, battles, castles, whiskey and we also got to hear some scottish music. Thank you so much for the wonderful ride. -26 Y/o Norwegian and her father.

A lot of driving looking at monotonous landscape for hours. Do not seat at the back of the bus, the B roads are bumpy. Make sure you book your lunch before the Loch Ness cruise. I have chosen the tour without whiskey component, we were still taken to a whiskey store.
