Early in the morning, the shuttle will pick you up from Abraham Hostel Tel Aviv. Drive through Jerusalem as you enjoy stunning views of the Judean Desert landscape along the Israeli side of the Jordan valley, on the way to the Allenby Border Crossing. Your first stop is Jerash, known to be one of the world’s best-preserved Roman cities. The impressive Hadrian’s arch marks the entrance to colonnaded streets, theatres, temples, and a hippodrome. Walking among these will take you on a journey through time, while your guide shares stories of the city’s glorious past, and how it was once ruled by Alexander the Great. Continue to the capital city Amman, where you will drive by sites such as the Royal Palace and King Hussein National Mosque, and get a general overview of the city. Before moving on from Amman, you’ll get to taste a delicious local sweet, called Knafeh.  An authentic Bedouin campsite will welcome you for a campfire dinner and a good night’s sleep in one of the comfortable tents. The nomadic Bedouins have inhabited the desert for thousands of years, and are famous for their extensive hospitality. After breakfast the next morning, it’s time to visit the UNESCO site of Petra. Carved into the red rocks by the Nabateans some 2,000 years ago, it hasn’t lost any of its magic. Your guide will lead you through the Siq, serving as an entrance corridor to the ancient city that eventually opens up to the iconic Treasury. From here, you’ll continue towards the Royal Tombs, the 3,000 seat amphitheater, the Monastery, and much more, each a stunning example of perfectly symmetrical Hellenistic architecture. Enjoy a delicious lunch in a local restaurant, before returning to Tel Aviv via the Allenby crossing in the late evening.

After an early departure from Eilat and crossing into Jordan, you will travel 2-3 hours along the scenic mountain route, to Petra, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. After passing the Obelisks in front of the cave, you will enter the narrow, 1,200 meter long canyon, the Siq, where you have the option to ride for the first few hundred meters. As you walk through the gorge with the towering red stone on either side, you can marvel at the incredible sites carved into the red mountain. The magnificent exterior of the treasury with its Corinthian columns is particularly well-preserved as it is deeply carved into the rock and protected by overhanging rock. To give you an idea of the height, the funeral urn alone, tucked away up in the heart of the exterior is eleven feet high.  The monumental building known as Ad Deir, is over forty meters high, its columns reaching more than two stories. At the Roman theater, you can all but wonder who filled the seats. Marvel at the sacrificial altar and the numerous tombs, each uniquely designed. After a late lunch, you will cross back to Eilat.

They picked us up at the hotel at the predetermined time 7AM, took us in a clean and comfortable car, in addition to giving us water. On the 3-hour drive from Amman to Petra, we stopped at one stop to go to the bathroom and have coffee. Upon arrival, he guided us and helped us buy the tickets, he waited for us all the time outside the venue and then we ate at a place he recommended which has very good food. We return to the hotel in good time. The driver is highly recommended and pleasant, he gave us a lot of confidence, we were very comfortable and grateful.

This was a great trip. Everything went perfect from my pick up and drop off at hotel. The Sun trail was amazing I did it in my own with no local guide inside the canyon needed. The canyon was easy to navigate and do much fun. It’s a great combination of walking and swimming and climbing ladders . I completed the canyon in a little over 2 hours it was a great experience
