    Nicknamed Little Marrakech for its great walls, street vendors and bustling center, Taroudant boasts beautiful treasures to be discovered, including its small medina and modest souks. On this day excursion from Agadir Hotel/Port, you’ll begin with a walk to the majestic ramparts and 9 arched doorways. Visit the craft bazaar, located in the city’s alleys, renowned for its fine silver Berber jewelry and its carpets. People come from afar to haggle for these Berber carpets. Surrounded by the High Atlas Mountains to the north and east and the Anti-Atlas Mountains to the south, Taroudant lies in the heart of a fertile valley. Continue on 30km to the southeast to the ruins of an ancient kasbah, perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the village of Tiout and palm groves reminiscent of Marrakech. The kasbah has been transformed into a tourist restaurant that dominates the site. From the peak, take in breathtaking views of the High Atlas Mountains and the Souss Valley. Of interesting note, Fernandel starred in Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves, filmed in this palm grove in 1954. See picturesque 16th-century Berber towns on the road back to Agadir.

    Taroudant and Tiout Oasis are both well worth a visit, and the scenery on the drive is impressive, including some goats in Argan trees. Our guide was informative and lunch was good (we had the vegetarian option). There was a lot to cover in one day, with lots of time in the coach and few toilet stops; we were tired by the end of it. There was occasional and mild pressure to buy extras (a coffee shop; in the souk; an argan oil cooperative; and donkey hire), so be prepared for that - it is a way for the locals to benefit from your visit.

    Overall We had a GREAT tour with Abdul. However, there was one aspect that we were very unhappy with and that you should address with all your guides. It started after we had a wonderful lunch at the Oasis in Tiot. We were directed to follow the restaurant owner down the road to see and ride the donkeys. We ended up taking a very very long walk in the hot sun on very rough ground. We were not told about the exstreme length of the journey and we were not told we should bring water. I’m 74 and my wife is 72. About half way to the end I had to stop walking and get on a donkey. Had We been told about the extreme length of the walk we would have remained at the restaurant while the other much younger travelers made the trek.

    Unsere Tour hat uns recht gut gefallen. Der Fahrer und Guide war sehr nett und im Rahmen seiner Möglichkeiten kompetent. Leider hätte die Tour fast ohne und stattgefunden. Unsere Abholug sollte nach Ihren Angaben (ihre Vereinbarung mit dem lokalen Unternehmen) um 8:30 vor dem Nachbarhotel (RIU Tikida Dunas) stattfinden. Wir haben dort bis 8:45 gewartet, aber es kam niemand. Unter der angegebenen Telefonnummer in Agadir lief ein Band auf arabisch. Bei Getyourguide babe ich nach 4 Minuten in der Warteschleife aufgelegt. Wir haben danach auf eigene Kosten ein Taxi zum allgemeinen Treffpunkt in der Marina genommen. Die hat der Taxifahrer leider nicht gefunden. Danach sind wir zu unserem Hotel zurckgefahren und hatten die Sache schon aufgegeben. Zu unserem Glueck hat der Tourguide mit den beiden anderen Mitfahreren bis 9:30 vor unserem (Riu Tikida Beach) Hotel auf uns gewarftet. Von anderen Abholorten hat er nichts gewußt. Ich habe schon viele Touren mit GetYourGuide Ländern unternommen.
