Full description
Join a small-group tour and go on an unforgettable guided journey to Machu Picchu. Receive a guided tour of the awe-inspiring citadel from an official guide and benefit from a tour package that includes hotel pickup from Cusco, train tickets, and bus shuttles. After being picked up from your hotel, be driven to Cusco's train station and embark on a 2-hour scenic train ride to the town of Aguas Calientes. Admire the breathtaking beauty of the Sacred Valley of the Incas set against the stunning Andean landscape. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, hop on a small bus and travel past the town of Urubamba and up to the ruins of the so-called “Lost City of the Incas”, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and now one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Get dropped off at the main entrance to Machu Picchu where you will be met by your expert guide who will lead you around the sacred hilltop site and tell you about the fascinating history and culture of the Incas. Marvel at more than 600 terraces, 160 buildings, thousands of steps, several temples, and 16 fountains built by the Incan Emperor Pachacutec. Gaze up the restored buildings, like the Temple of the Sun and the Room of the Three Windows, and take in the sweeping scenery of the surrounding valley.   Descend back down to Aguas Calientes where you will enjoy free time to walk around the city and look for a place to have lunch.  At a scheduled time, board the train back to Cusco and be picked up at the train station to be transported back to your hotel.

Condor Travel was top notch! The planning, always telling us where we were supposed to go next, the tour itself, the history, the food recommendations, everything was amazing1 You should not do this tour on your own. Go through a tour guide, it's so much better and what you learn you would never just come across on your own. Plus with how many different forms of transportation it takes to get to Machu Picchu you will save a lot of stress by going through a tour company. Thank you for everything!

We had a great experience with the Machu Picchu Small Group Full-Day tour! The company WhatsApp'ed me the day before with the tickets and all the information. We were picked up near our hotel in Cusco around 6am by a small van that also had another group of 2 people in it. The driver drove the four of us to the Ollantaytambo train station where we took the PeruRail to Aguas Calientes. There a tour guide was waiting for us when we got off the train. There was a little bit of down time before our entry time into Machu Picchu so we explored the town a bit before meeting up with the tour guide again. Once again, it was only 4 of us with the tour guide (me and my partner, and a different group of 2). The tour guide brought us up to Machu Picchu by the bus and gave about a 3 hour tour walking through the ruins. Afterwards, we had some more down time before taking the train back in the evening. A private driver drove my group back to Cusco around 10pm so it was a long day but worth it!

The sight is breathtakingly beautiful. Our guide was very knowledgable and had a very pleasant personality. After the tour, she took us to the Towhall in Aguas Caliente to get our passports stamped. However, afterwards she led us directly inside a "recommended" restaurant, which made it difficult to leave the restaurant. I would appreciate the recommondation, but I consider leading the clients inside and leaving them there a little manipulative. Otherwise it was a great trip, it was very well organized and there were only 3 people in our group.
