Take a journey through the breathtaking countryside of Morocco, traveling via the Tizi N'Tichka pass, which at 7,415 feet is the highest pass in northern Africa. On this full-day tour from Marrakech you’ll discover an area of magnificent landscapes. You’ll stop to visit the famous, fortified city of Ait Ben Haddou kasbah. Listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site, it has been the backdrop for many films. After eating lunch, we will enjoy a city tour of Ouarzazate, whose name is the Berber word for “no noise.”, then visit the Taourirt and Tiffoultoute Kasbahs which were the ancient residences of Glaoui (Old Pacha of Marrakech). Departing early in the morning from your accommodation in Marrakech, you will drive towards Ouarzazate through the High Atlas before reaching the Tizi N'Tichka pass. Sitting 2,260 meters high, this is the highest road crossing in Morocco. It connects the Marrakech Saharan regions, of which Ouarzazate is the crossroad. You will then stop for a visit to the famous fortified city of Ait Ben Haddou. This city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and its Kasbah has been the backdrop for many films including the Diamond of the Nile, Lawrence of Arabia, Sodom and Gomorre, the Jewel of the Nile, Jesus of Nazareth, the Mummy, Gladiator and Babel. After this visit of the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, you will continue to the city of Ouarzazate to explore another Kasbah built in the 17th century. Here you will visit the cinema studios, before stopping for lunch in a local restaurant. Following lunch, you can enjoy free time to enjoy a mint tea and enjoy the green valley and beautiful views of the High Atlas peaks. In this area, between the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert, one can find several Kasbahs, all the color of the sand and forming small Berber villages that take advantage of the abundance of water from the Atlas to its small crops and animals. At the end of the day, you will be returned to your accommodation in Marrakech.

Next, venture to the UNESCO World Heritage site Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah and after lunch, view the most famous kasbah fortress in Morocco. From here, travel through the Draa Valley, which is known for growing delectable dates. On arrival in Zagora, take a camel ride to a luxury desert camp and immerse yourself in the beauty of the Saharan dunes over dinner. Sleep in comfort under the stars. Day 2: Greet the sun, as your gracious hosts wake you to see the majestic sunrise. After a hearty breakfast, enjoy a second camel ride back to meet your driver. Pass back through the peaks of the High Atlas Mountains and take in the views once more on your way back to Marrakech.
