First make your way to L'Isle sur la Sorgue, and wander through the open-air provencal market, and along the canals, taking time to stop in the various antique shops. You will use knives and baskets so as not to not damage the mushrooms. During your time in the Provence forests you will learn how to distinguish between edible and poisonous mushrooms.  You will hunt for about 10 different varieties, including: cepes, chanterelle, golden chanterelle, hedgehog mushroom, blue stalk mushroom, Tricholoma myomyces, Saffron milk cap, white saddle, elfin saddle, and black trumpet. You'll discover the quiet, unspoiled forests of the area and enjoy the bucolic and relaxed atmosphere of Provence. You will need to be equipped with sturdy, comfortable shoes that you don’t mind getting muddy.    The arrival at the hunting grounds will be followed by a brief tutorial on the different mushrooms we'll be searching for.  An outdoor breakfast, including bread, sausage, paté, tapenade, mushrooms and red wine (juice for the kids), will be served. The search for mushrooms will end with a last glass of wine to toast new friendships.

Then you'll pick olives by hand in the autumn sun, while you learn everything you ever wanted to know about olive trees: pruning, planting, harvesting, making olive oil, etc... 12:00 – 13:00: Hearty Provençal apéritif with all you care to drink of the property red wine, a sampling of homemade olive oil, truffle oil and truffle salt, enjoyed poolside with a view of the olive groves.

Spend a morning or afternoon fishing at one of the most beautiful lakes or rivers in Provence. Experienced sportsmen will marvel at the natural beauty of the countryside, while beginners will learn how to assemble the rod, use the various lures, cast, and with a little luck, catch some pike, perch, or carp. You will need to be equipped with clothing suitable for the weather and sturdy, comfortable shoes that you don’t mind getting wet. The rendezvous is at the roundabout of the bottom of Cadenet (D973) with arrival at the fishing grounds followed by a short history of the area and explanation of the equipment you'll be using. An outdoorsman's breakfast, including bread, sausage, paté, tapenade, and red wine (juice for the kids) will be served. After you put away the equipment, you will enjoy a last glass of wine to toast new friendships. Evening fishing is also available during the week, with the outdoorsman's breakfast replaced by a Provençal aperitif. There are two options available: pike and perch or carp.

A perfect way to get oriented in Aix— our guide Elisabeth— was charming, passionate, fun and extremely knowledgeable! We were taken through the heart of Aix with samples of history, food and wine… a MUST DO tour!!
