The Northern Lights are one of the most spectacular natural phenomena on the planet and on this night tour, you will have the chance to see these marvels of nature for yourself. Your evening begins at 5:00 PM when you will be collected from your accommodation in Fairbanks and head approximately 60 miles (100 kilometers) to the Chena Resort. Here you will first have a chance to cool off (before heating up) in the spectacular Ice Museum. This building, built entirely out of ice, boasts a full Ice Bar and chandeliers built painstakingly out of hand-crafted ice.  At 10:00 PM, you can soak your cares away in the warm and inviting Chena Hot Springs. You'll be pleased to know that the resort makes use of the first low-temperature binary geothermal power plant built in Alaska and is working on several alternative energy projects, including production and use of hydrogen and vegetable oil for fuel. The resort is conducting collaborative experiments in greenhouse production of vegetables with the University of Alaska Fairbanks Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station. All in all, the resort is absolutely beautiful and you will soak in its natural springs for two hours. By 12:00 midnight, you can begin to look out for the Northern Lights. Soon, if you are lucky, the Aurora Borealis will appear. This natural light display is caused by the collision of energetic charged particles with atoms high in the atmosphere. The result is a breathtaking display of light that can be bright enough to read a newspaper by. Around 2:00 AM, depart back to Fairbanks and arrive around 4:00 AM. The night will surely be one you will never forget.

It is a crude oil pipeline privately owned by the Alyeska Pipeline Service Company, and here you will learn the engineering and building process of this epic land-crawling beast. After a short visit to the pipeline, stop for breakfast at a rustic truck stop sitting atop a lovely hilltop. After the meal, you'll cross the mighty Yukon River before arriving at Finger Mountain. Here you will enjoy a beautiful hike on a spectacular high plateau far above the tree line. Finally, arrive at the Arctic Circle. Here you will have your picture taken and receive your very own Arctic Circle Certificate. After some time in this lovely land, venture back across the Yukon River, where you'll have the chance to walk right up to its mighty banks. Have a nice dinner before checking out the Joy Alaska Arctic Circle Trading Post. You will arrive back in Fairbanks around 10:00 PM.

Beginning at 1 PM, get picked up from your hotel and venture up to the Arctic Circle (66.5622°) north of the Equator, where you can have your pictures taken and receive a "Cross the Circle-Certificate." It is here that explorers have been venturing for centuries, drawn by the power the planet has to offer. As you continue your day, pass the Trans-Alaska-Pipeline. Judge for yourself its impact on the landscape around it. After the pipeline, head straight for the banks of the mighty Yukon River. Walk right up to the edge of its banks, where you will gaze out over the beauty in front of you. From here, head to the high plateau of Finger Mountain, where you will hopefully see moose, fox, bears, and perhaps even a mysterious lynx if you're lucky! Up on the mountain, snack on sandwiches, sweets and hot drinks. Through the night, travel back to Fairbanks. Soon, if we're lucky, the Aurora Borealis appears. Your worries slip away as you step into the warm and calming pools of Chena Hot Springs. On this rejuvenating day trip from Fairbanks, your senses will be reawakened by a day of rest and relaxation at the Chena River State Recreation Area. Chena Hot Springs are not your ordinary hot springs. The resort makes use of the first low-temperature binary geothermal power plant built in Alaska, and you will be comforted to know that the area provides several alternative energy projects to those big oil pipelines you've seen sprawled out around the state. The warming waters will sooth your body and soul with its powerful effects. The day begins around 11:30 AM or 5:00 PM in Fairbanks, where you will be driven first to an Ice Museum, complete with an ice bar and chandeliers made entirely of ice! Here you will have a guided tour of the museum before venturing on to the Geothermal springs of Chena. Before slipping into the pools, enjoy another guided tour and learn about all the possibilities of Geothermal Energy (only for the AM departure). You're now ready to slip into the waters, where you'll have several hours to lounge and relax before we depart back for Fairbanks. If you're hungry, make sure to stop by the local restaurant for some food and drink. Your drive back is a calming one, and along the way we almost always spot moose, so keep your eyes open! We arrive back in Fairbanks around 6:30 PM or 12:00 AM.

Experience the beauty and awe of the Matanuska Glacier on a full-day trip from Anchorage. Drive the Glenn Highway up the Matanuska Valley along the Matanuska River. The glacier is 100 miles (161 kilometers) from Anchorage, so there are vast open vistas to enjoy along the way when the weather is clear. At the glacier office, check in, and take advantage of the warm, indoor restrooms before heading out. Then drive to the glacier house, where the initial view of the glacier is breathtaking. There you will load onto the sleds and enjoy a slow, safe ride out to the magnificent blue ice, a trip that lasts for 2 hours. After you leave the glacier, the lunch spot is seconds away. Glacier burgers, grilled ham and cheese, hot chocolate, and other comfort foods are on the menu. Relax and take a nap with the background of Alaskan music or chat on the way back to Anchorage. This tour is a full eight hours and operates snow or shine. If the weather in Anchorage is poor, the area near the glacier is usually acceptable. Other tours may say they are an experience of a lifetime, but this one truly is.
