The Alcázar of Seville houses the history of the last millennium within its walls and gardens, and you’ll recognize influences from the Arabic period to the late Middle Ages and through to the Renaissance, Baroque and the 19th century. In 1987 UNESCO declared the Alcázar a World Heritage Site, acknowledging the survival of cultures and civilizations in a harmonic whole. Explore the unique surroundings of this site as you hear the detailed commentary by a private guide. You’ll learn about the legendary al-Mutamid, the 11th-century monarch and poet from Seville, and some of the personalities that illuminated modern-day Spain in the early 19th century. Admire the stunning architecture and the gardens, and listen as your guide tells you about the mix of Arabic and European cultures. This is one of the most visited complexes in the world. Our guide Rosa was excellent in telling us the history of the Alcazar of Seville. She also gave a lot of information about the structure and architecture of the building. For those who watched GoT, she made references to the scenes in series as well. We enjoyed the tour very much.

Beautiful place and great guide. However, it would be much better if the tour was in one language only - even though the guide does a great job, it gets too long and boring having to wait for everything to be said in both English and Spanish. In saying that, taking a tour is really worth it if only to skip the long, long line.

Great tour

This tour was very interesting and informative. Our guide was great and we enjoyed the early appointment as it was a bit cooler than later in the day and also beat the crowds. We just did the Alcazar tour so when we go back we will book the same company for the Cathedral tour. All in all a great experience that we would highly recommend!
