1. Manaus: Amazon River Stand-Up Paddle
The Rio Negro Tarumã, or Amazon Black River, is part of the world’s largest river basin that’s the source of one-fifth of all free-flowing fresh water on earth. Its rainforests are the planet’s largest and most luxuriant and play host to 10 percent of the known species on earth. Home to nearly 40,000 plant species, the Amazon sustains the world’s richest diversity of birds, freshwater fish and butterflies. Your 2-hour activity begins with a pick-up at your Manaus hotel. From there you’ll be transferred to Rio Tarumã for your stand-up paddling class. A life vest is provided, and the water’s not deep, so you’ll be safe even if you can’t swim!
