Re-awaken your senses at an unusual 3 course dinner in Amsterdam, and discover what it is like to eat in complete darkness! Unlike any ordinary restaurant, the experience plunges you into a world of sensitivity you may never have felt before, and takes you on a journey through taste, sound and touch. You will be seated in a pitch-black dining room and served by blind or visually impaired wait staff. They have been specially trained to serve meals in the dark, and will offer guidance and reassurance for sighted guests. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed in a lighted lounge area. Check your coat or bag in the cloakroom, as you won't need anything but your senses. Once you have ordered, you will be guided into the darkened dining room. Then, experience your food as the visually impaired experience it; and discover new taste sensations with the rest of your senses.

Great experience

Friendly staff for an extraordinary experience, living for one evening the life of a blind person, it is not easy for a clairvoyant. Recognize the tastes of food, realize the texture of the ingredients, this is where we realize that our sense of taste is manipulated by our vision. And the cutlery, fork, knife, pffff, you end up eating with your fingers (sorry it's not suitable, but more practical !!). In any case, wonderful evening in the company of Mickael, our evening guide.

Experience better than the food

The experience was very good, although the food was a little so.,so. Pudding was delicious though. Our experience was hindered by a huge crowd of people in a party with no thought for others as they were loud, moving around on their own and very arrogant. Shame as it did spoil it a little. Also waiting staff at bat were a little rude, you would ask for something and they would then join a conversation with the other two staff as one of them had a problem.

Don't go if claustrophobic

My friends and I booked this. If I am honest we didn't really know what to expect and probably didn't think it through properly. When we arrived we were all feeling nervous but decided to go with it. As we walked into the dark my claustrophobia kicked in immediately and I could hardly breath. We had to turn around and leave. The restaurant were amazing and didn't make us feel like idiots lol. We got a full refund from get your guide too which was very good! Can't fault them at all!
