VELO SERVICE in the old town of Bari offers a must-do experience. PRODUCTION OF PASTA; 2 hour walking tour of old Bari. stroll through the alleys of Bari. small historical reminder of certain monuments etc... we were very lucky to have a very small French-speaking group. a big thank you to JADE for his good mood, his humor and his great knowledge of the history of his city. then we met CARMELA who for 1 hour taught us how to make pasta with semolina and water (occhriettes) then tasted our own creation. superb atmosphere of the "Mamas" who call out to each other, speak loudly etc...
the 3 guide girls were knowledgable and enthusiastic. we got a free bottle of water, a gelato or granito and orechiette to taste what the intended end result should be from our nice workshop with a very nice lady. Making orechiette is quite an art, you can't learn it in half an hour. I'll leave it to the ladies who spend all day doing this in Bari Vecchia. I thought it was a well organized tour.
We had a wonderful tour, thanks to Ariana. She showed us Bari and shared some really interesting facts about the city. The pasta course was cute and fun to do, we even tried our own pasta. We ended up at the best gelato shop in town, the ice cream was amazing :) Once again, thank you Ariana, wishing you all the best. Greetings from NL
Our really friendly guide Giada was very informative & knowledgeable about Bari. We enjoyed this beautiful old city & tasting some of the many varieties of local food. Thank you Giada
Best cooking experience my family and I have ever had.
