This was a fantastic way to spend an evening in Athens. On a roof top with stunning views over the city and up to the Acropolis. It was quite windy the night we saw the play so it did get a bit chilly but it didn't spoil the show. The actors are fabulous, and clearly love what they do. Weaving in several myths and classical plays, the story tells of a modern visitor to Athens who bumps his head and wakes up in ancient Athens. Guided by a slave, he then meets many famous characters. Some of the scenes were dramatic, some very very funny. The actors throw themselves into every role heart and sole, and some of the more dramatic scenes like Medea, or Antigone were actually quite emotional. Like traditional theatre, all parts are played by men, but this adds to the hilarity, especially in the part where old women get to chose a young lover first. That was just brilliant. All in all, a fantastic night, and well recommended to anyone with or without any knowledge of the stories involved.

Very entertaining but you need to speak very good level of English to understand the play and the jokes (my Mom didn't quite understand everything). The only issue for me were the sounds from the streets; while sitting in the futher rows I had issues with hearing some of the parts.

Came on honeymoon, and spotted this little gem in the activities lists. We both love theater - and ancient Greek theater is a fave - so we went for it! It was brilliant. The handmade masks were beautiful. The players were not just talented, it was also clear how hard they work at every aspect. It's a well oiled machine at this point! We loved the excerpts, and the tie-in story. On top of all that, the rooftop views are wonderful. The backdrop above the stage is a lit-up Acropolis, and all around you can see the city spread out, lights a-twinkling, moon shining. It was just great, and we'd highly recommend it!
