What people are saying about Athens
Katarina and Kostas were awesome. Katarina as guide is very passionate—she has deeply studied the caverns and monasteries, and also grew up in the town. She is like talking to a history book. And our driver Kostas was the most helpful and careful, and took some amazing pictures. It is breathtaking to enter the monasteries, see the landscapes and visiting the church. One of a kind experience that makes the train ride worth it (it’s not bad actually, pretty cool sightseeing and comfortable seats for 2nd class). Note: read the tour itinerary carefully. If not, you’ll be disappointed—I’m not talking for myself but for the people who were with me. All the info is sent beforehand or is on the description including the dress code for the monasteries.
The trip was nice, especially because we visited Athens in December, so no crowds at the attractions. Dimitri, the guide, very nice and knowledgeable. But the meeting time was changed the night before, (35 minutes earlier) so you would want to check your mail - because nobody will call to tell you that. Which was not fair - we haven't got access to the internet and we end up running in the morning to catch a taxi and arrive at their company in time. We almost missed the trip.
The hotel pickup and train ride were smooth. The announcement at train station was clear which helped bc the track change at last minute. The train ride was long but comfy. Four hours (except returning it took 5 hours though no fault on your operator.) The scenery is breath taking.
Great experience and tour! Vasilis was an outstanding guide!
Amazing places to visit and many history to be told
