    Embark on a 2-day tour to the archaeological site of Delphi and the historic Orthodox monasteries built on the rocks of Meteora. Learn about the myths and history attached to these sites from your guide on this guided tour from Athens.

    Day 1:

    Depart Athens for the ancient site of the Oracle of Delphi. Travel by air-conditioned coach through the pretty towns and villages of Thebes, Levadia, and Arachova on the slopes of Mount Parnassus.

    Arrive in Delphi and explore the ruins of the ancient sanctuary of Pythia, the high priestess of the Temple of Apollo. Explore the temple and learn about its significance from your guide. Then, continue to the beautiful town of Kalabaka for dinner and your overnight stay.

    Day 2:

    After breakfast, make your way to Meteora, famous for its stunning rock formations. Visit the monasteries built to serve the monks and nuns following the teachings of the Eastern Orthodox Church.

    Return to Athens via Trikala and Lamia. Stop at Thermopylae to admire the monument to the Greek warrior-king Leonidas I, who died there in 480 BC. Arrive back in Athens by the early evening.

    It was a great experience. Our guides were very knowledgeable and patiently explained the history of the sites we visited and overall information about Greece as well. Meteora is a must see especially if you are already doing the Delphi tour. Our overnight hotel stay was very good and comfortable and dinner and breakfast was also great.     The tour was amazing, our guides and our drivers were also very knowledgeable and kind. I was a little sad that in Delphi we did not have time to visit the museum, but since the meteoras were still a long drive ahead, it was understandable (and if you would like to spend more time in Delphi, there are separate day tours available). But I must say, that the view of the meteoras definitely made up for it ☺️ They are one of a kind and stunning, and you should not miss them if you visit mainland Greece. All in all, this tour was a great experience and I can only recommend it

    The 2 day tour to Delphi and Meteora was great. It did not feel rushed, enough time to visit the places and wander around. Hotel accommodation is very basic unless you choose to upgrade. Lunch stops were great. Reasonable prices and good greek food. Guides (George and Thomas) were very knowledgeable and shared a lot of interesting and fun facts about greek mythology and history.
