Full description

Join a full-day history tour of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial Museum from Kraków and see the infamous WWII concentration camps. Learn about this part of world history from a guide who will explain the significance and dark history of the camps to you. Depart from Kraków head first visit KL Auschwitz 1. Walk through the iron gate bearing the notorious slogan 'Arbeit Macht Frei', which means work sets you free. See 22 brick barracks where hundreds of thousands of victims of the Holocaust were located. Next, make your way to block 11, the so-called prison within the prison. Block 11 contained special torture chambers where various punishments were inflicted on prisoners. The first extermination attempts using Zyklon B gas took place in this block. After visiting KL Auschwitz 1, travel in the minivan to KL Auschwitz 2 Birkenau. This part of the camp is 25 times larger than Auschwitz 1. Over 1 million people died here. End your visit to the memorial by paying your respects to all of the victims of the Holocaust before heading back to Kraków.

Visiting Auschwitz/Birkenau is definitely worth seeing to capture the story and see the site with your own eyes. The collection and transport went flawlessly with good communication. Our tour guide on site, a nice lady who had a lot to tell and therefore didn't pay much attention to the clock. Unfortunately, due to the C virus and the heat wave, not all rooms were accessible today and Birkenau was only possible for 1 hour. All in all, a goosebump moment at 34 degrees.
