Our tour to Aveiro over an hour from Porto allowed us to see the countryside outside of a big Portuguese city. We passed through the city of Gaia, a cork factory and saw storks along the way. In Aveiro, called the “little venice” of Portugal, we got on gondola type boats and traveled the canals. We learned about the history of the city, the Salina fields where salt is taken and about the different types of architecture represented in the buildings. On the way back, we stopped in Costa Novo, a beach town with multi colored striped houses bordered the ocean. It was quite lovely and a good way to spend the afternoon. One thing that really makes a great tour is the guide. Nuno was awesome - extremely knowledgeable and very helpful in giving information about many other things. Five stars for this tour and our excellent guide
