Depart Ayers Rock Resort and journey into the sacred world of the Aboriginal peoples of Australia on a drive around the base of Uluru in a comfortable bus. Get explanations about the extraordinary site from your driver/guide, and hear about the numerous sacred sites found there. Continue to the Kuniya Walk, where your driver/guide will escort you to the beautiful Mutitjulu Waterhole.  See Aboriginal rock paintings, and learn more about the area as you are shown some of the native flora and given details of both the Aboriginal and European history of Uluru. Next, go to the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre and learn about Aboriginal culture. Look at fine examples of Aboriginal arts and crafts, and then journey back to the rock in time to watch the sunset from the viewing area.  Marvel at the striking color changes on the rock as you enjoy nibbles and a complimentary glass of wine.

Enjoy a comfortable transfer from your hotel to the base of Uluru. Upon arrival at the Segway base area, your tour guide will provide you with comprehensive Segway training. You'll take part in a short safety briefing and have a practice ride on your Segway. Afterward, you'll be ready for your guided tour of the magical Uluru, also known by its non-native name, Ayers Rock. Departing from Kuniya carpark located at the base of Uluru, you'll be led by our fully qualified and knowledgeable guide into the iconic Mutitjulu Waterhole to explore the sights and sounds. This is one of Uluru's lesser-known hidden gems. Then quietly and effortlessly cruise around the entire base of Uluru on your Segway. Take in all the highlights of the rock and learn about local Anangu culture, flora, fauna, geology, and the European history of the area from your knowledgeable guides. Get up close and personal with picturesque landscape, ancient Aboriginal culture, and the history of Uluru. Immerse yourself in the outback landscape that the Central Australian region is famous for. Upon return back to the Segway base, enjoy worry-free transfers back to Ayers Rock Resort or your originating hotel.

You will depart the resort late afternoon: sit back and relax as you travel into the amazing Uluru–Kata Tjuta National Park. Your driver guide will provide expert commentary while you enjoy the amazing surroundings and incredible sight of Uluru in the distance. This fascinating icon stands 348 metres high, although most of its mass is below ground level. You’ll be overwhelmed by its incredible size, presence and inherent spirituality.  Enjoy sparkling wine and nibbles while you begin to absorb the enormity and beauty of your surroundings. You can just relax or stroll around the Sunset Viewing Area to discover your own personal space to watch the amazing Uluru sunset.  Don’t forget to take a photo every few minutes to capture the famous colour change. Have your driver guide take a photo of you with Uluru in the background – although they say the memory will stay with you forever! Return to the resort after sunset and in time for a dinner booking.

Your guide will meet you at the entrance of your accommodation at Ayers Rock Resort, from where you will travel through the landscape to the entrance of Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park. From there is it a 40-kilometre journey through the desert landscape to the mighty rock formation. On arrival at the viewing area, walk to the best vantage point to see the 36 domes that comprise this spiritual place while watching the sun's morning glow as the desert comes alive. Make your way to the western side of Kata Tjuta where you will have the opportunity to relax and enjoy an outback picnic breakfast. As you approach the entrance to Walpa Gorge, named for the wind (Walpa) that whistles between the massive domes that shape Kata Tjuta, the result of aeons of weathering and continual upheaval, your guide will share the significance of this sacred ceremonial site. Take a stroll between these mighty conglomerate rock walls as your guide explains how the environment and the geology have evolved over millions of years. Your guide will return you to your accommodation at Ayers Rock Resort at the end of the tour.
