  • Admire views of volcanoes, sandy beaches and islets on an Azores boat tour

Full description

Begin the excursion with an introduction to cetaceans (whales and dolphins) and other marine species, their natural habitat, communication, migration, and behavioral patterns. After the briefing, board the designated boat and head out to sea. Approach the whales slowly and carefully as the naturalist guides and marine biologists on board provide commentary. Next, take a tour around the Princess Ring Islet of Vila Franca do Campo, for an up-close look at the volcano and resident wildlife. Light food is permitted on board, and a camera is essential to capture the wildlife you spot on the tour.

Loved the smaller, faster boat as we were able to move quickly to where the spotter suggested and we got close to the dolphins and killer whales. Downside is you're restricted to your seat during the entire trip, which didn't bother us but some may not tolerate well. Given the tradeoff, I'd choose being close to the mammals over being able to walk around a larger boat anytime.

Absolutely phenomenal !! The tour was incredible, they are really focused on preserving the environment and follow international and local protocols when it comes to approaching the animals which is wonderful!! They partner with some amazing pHD programs and other organizations that collect data to help with research related to marine life in the Azores. I would 10000% recommend this tour, we loved every second. Saw humpback whales and dolphins ! Very informational, learned so much !

Very well organized. Despite the fact that the day we had contracted could not leave; They postponed our visit to the next day (if not, they would refund our money). Finally we were able to do it the next day and the experience is unforgettable. We saw daytime types of dolphins and two whales. They also gave us a tour of the islet... Wonderful!
