Bangkok: Khlong Toei Market & Bang Krachao Island Bike Tour

1. Bangkok: Khlong Toei Market & Bang Krachao Island Bike Tour

Make your first stop of the day at Khlong Toei Market, Bangkok’s largest fresh market. Watch the vendors sell their produce to the busy locals and stroll around the stalls, taking in the sights, smells, and sounds. From there, hop on an iconic tuk-tuk and head to the pier. Board a ferry that’ll take you across the Chao Phraya River. Cycle to Bang Krachao, also called ‘Bangkok Jungle’ or Bangkok’s ‘Green Lung’. Discover one of the rare places in Bangkok where you’ll find yourself immersed in greenery and trees. Spend your time exploring this artificial oasis, passing through banana trees, coconut plantations, and local houses. Stop at a public park and feed the fish, before making your way to a Muay Thai school to observe students practicing the beloved Thai sport. Afterward, visit a local Buddhist temple and stop at a neighborhood Thai restaurant for lunch before taking the ferry back across the river to Khlong Toei Pier. Choose to cycle in a small group or to have your own private guide. Opt to have a private tour with a pickup service, or simply meet your private guide at the meeting point.

2. Colors Of Bangkok: 4-Hour Small Group Bike Tour

Make your way around Bangkok by cycling along on a guided tour. Travel through lesser-known parts of the Thai capital and dive into its green lung to escape the hustle and bustle of the busy city. Cross the river on a long-tail boat and enjoy a delicious typical meal. Meet at the activity provider's office and admire the views from the Chao Praya riverbanks before catching the ferry. Once at the other side of the river, find yourself in the Bangkrachao sub-district, also known as the "Green Lung of Bangkok”. Cycle on elevated pathways through lush vegetation and in the shade of coconut palms and banana trees. Stop at a local Buddhist temple: Wat Bang Krasop. If time and the principal allow, pay a short visit to the elementary school next to the temple to say hello to the children. Continue the bicycle ride deeper into the jungle and reach a Muay Thai boxing gym. Learn about the national sport and perhaps take a short lesson from the master. A tip to the master is not mandatory, but common and very much appreciated. Ride across a market and the beautiful Srinakonkhenkan park, and make another stop at Ganesh, a Hindu god, where the guide will tell you how this God was adopted by the Thai Buddhists. Take a break at a local restaurant to enjoy a typical Thai meal, such as Pad Thai or Kao Pad with shrimp, crab, pork, chicken, or vegetables. After your meal, return to the pier and take the ferry back to the hustle and bustle of Bangkok again.

A wonderful half day which was a true highlight of our stay in Bangkok. Our guide Tom was very experienced, and set the right tone for a relaxing afternoon biking through Bang Krachao jungle areas. The Khlong Toei market was an eye-opening visit, even for someone who lived here for 2 years previously, and a feature not found on other Bang Krachao bike tours. All logistics and costs taken care of under this booking makes travel easy. Guide Tom took great care of us even after the tour ended by staying to help with taxi transport to our next destination. Highly recommend this tour, and request Tom as your guide!

Great countryside bike tour just across Chao Praya. The cold weather was also a nice bonus. If you’re looking for a quiet town with lush parks, serene temples, kind people, this tour is a nice break from busy BKK. Phudis, my tour guide is really smart and nice. Learned a lot from him the history of Thailand and other fun facts! I had a great time!

We had such a great time on this tour. Jojo, our guide, was very knowledgeable and helpful. She clearly has a passion for what she does. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who can ride a bike. 10/10
