Full description
Depart from Bangkok at 7:30 am, and head to Ratchaburi Province, home of the famous Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Along the way, make a quick stop to visit a traditional Thai house, where you can see locals making brown coconut sugar. Explore the house and its surrounding area, which is home to many different animals living on the coconut plantation. Continue your trip by boarding a longtail boat for a ride along narrow canals to the floating market. See the local houses lining the canals and take a quick glance at their way of living, while you pass by. When you arrive at the market, see the amazing array of vendors in their boats, selling fresh products, from fruits and vegetables to prepared dishes. Explore the floating market at your leisure for about an hour and take time to try some authentic Thai foods, such as Pad Thai, Mango Sticky Rice, Boat Noodles or Coconut Ice Cream sold along the canal. My husband and I enjoyed the floating market tour that we did in Bangkok. Our tour guide was very helpful and kind. My only “complaint” is that I would have loved to have an additional hour or so at the market to explore. We felt rushed and didn’t get to enjoy ourselves as much as we would have had we had some additional time to browse. The market was a great experience though!

Minibus transportation was excellent. A very experienced driver and a great minibus. The guide Pat was excellent and ensured that this was a fantastic excursion. She told a lot of interesting facts both during the trip and on the spot .. The visit to the farm where we were given an explanation of how coconut sugar was made was interesting. The tour of the Thai home with explanation from the guide was interesting. Sailing the longtail boat to the floating market was a lot of fun. The floating market was fun to see and the food from the Thai dishes that were prepared by the locals in the Floating Boats tasted great. We were picked up from our hotel in the morning and brought back. The guide Pat and the driver were both top pigeons. Thanks!

This was quite an experience. It was nothing I have ever seen before. I really enjoyed riding past all the merchants cooking and selling their goods in the canals. I made note of places i wanted to visit and when we docked I waled back to haggle for trinkets and eat where the locals were congregating. I would definitely do this tour again.
