The tour was on time and overall quite enjoyable. As others have already said, a couple more hours wouldn't hurt to explore everything. Essentially you'll have to commit to one of the guide's suggested options and stick to it. E.g. I hiked up the mountain to the cross and the funicular station and had afterwards roughly 20 minutes left to explore the stores and market

This was a fantastic tour, Montserrat is beautiful and I would highly recommend a visit here! There is history as well as beautiful scenery and views. Daniel our guide was excellent, engaging and informative- we found all he had to say was incredibly interesting and we learned a great deal about the monastery and surrounds. The trip to and from Barcelona was comfortable and takes around an hour, the tour itself was about and hour with a couple hours of free time - we chose to use this time to view the museum with the most beautiful artworks and then a short walk after to take in the views. Seeing the Black Madonna was of course the highlight of this trip.

Comprehensive tour with tickets to see the Black Madonna. We were given two hours of free time which we really appreciated as it allowed us to explore the place at our own pace and shop at the farmer’s market by the monastery. It’s a half day tour which was great because we were back in Barcelona just in time for lunch.
