Bayahibe

Saona Island is surrounded by white sand beaches, turquoise clear waters, and countless palm trees. This very inviting atmosphere is perfect for relaxing, which is exactly what you can do throughout your tour. You will first be picked up from your hotel, from where you will travel to Bayahibe. Once on the speed boat, you will travel to Saona Island via the Caribbean Sea. Half-way through the trip you will be granted a 45-minute break at a beautiful natural pool, after which you will continue your journey before arriving to Saona Island where you will have about 3.5 hours to relax. At approximately 2:35PM you will board a beautiful catamaran to return to Bayahibe. Aboard this Catamaran you can enjoy the party atmosphere, and can also choose to dance throughout the approximately 1.5-hour journey. At the conclusion of your day out in the sun, you will be returned back to your accommodation.

Join a full-day experience leaving from Bávaro and Bayahibe through the new Autovía del Este. Walk in the cobblestoned historic core of Santo Domingo and visit the cathedral. Observe iconic spots like the Alcázar de Colón Palace, National Pantheon, and Los Tres Ojos. After arriving in Santo Domingo, head to your first stop, the open-air limestone cave and lakes of Los Tres Ojos. Continue the tour until you reach the Colón Lighthouse. Finally, eat lunch on Catalina beach, where you will have about two and a half hours to relax, lounge, swim, and snorkel some more. Later, get back to the sail catamaran and continue on to the Chavon River, a unique a tranquil place where scenes from "Anaconda" and several other movies were shot. To return, cruise on the catamaran along the coast and enjoy a beautiful view of the mansions and villas before arriving back in Bayahibe.

Transport will drive you to Bayahibe, the starting point of the excursion, where you will embark on the fast boat. Let's go to Cotubanama National Park! A short stop in front of the Penon where an English-speaking guide will give you explanations about this cliff and the Taino natives, the first inhabitants of the island. You will also make a stop at the mangroves, which are trees growing directly in the sea water. First stop on the island of Saona, at the beach of Canto de la playa where you will spend 2h30 on this magic white sand beach surrounded by coconut trees. There you will have time to relax or to snorkel, whichever suits you best.... After these marvelous moments, you will get back on the fast boat to go to the village of Mano Juan for a Dominican lunch. Once done with lunch, let's take a cap and sun cream to visit the village of Mano Juan with the English speaking guide and get a glimpse of the local life (wooden house, anecdotes, local shops, national sports...). At the village you will also visit the typical turtle nursery, a project maintained by a local family. With the means at hand, they take care of the incubation of the eggs during the laying period and the release of the baby turtles into the sea. It is not 100% guaranteed to see hatchlings, it will depend on the season and the hatching cycle. Once the visit is over you will have a little time to take a nap at the water's edge or test your bargaining skills in the small local shops. To top it off, you will stop at the famous natural pool where you will be able to see the huge starfish (be careful, you can't touch them, we can only admire them and take pictures), have an aperitif in the turquoise Caribbean water and enjoy a wonderful moment.
