Full description

Spend the day visiting four locations over three and a half hours. Visit the Longue-sur-mer battery, typical of German coastal defense batteries. Built in September 1943 and comprising 4 casmates and a fire direction post.

Arrive at Omaha Beach, known for by its code name for one of the five sectors of the Allied invasion of German-occupied France in the Normandy landings on June 6, 1944, during World War II. Visit Gold Beach located between Port-en-Bessin on the west and La Rivière on the east. High cliffs at the western end of the zone meant that the landings took place on the flat section between Le Hamel and La Rivière, in the sectors code-named Jig and King.

We had a wonderful time visiting the landing beaches and learning more about D-Day and the area with our tour guide. The side car was a great way to transport between sites and enjoy the lovely terrain that Normandy has to offer. We loved everything about this tour!

This was a wonderful way to see the Normandy D-Day sites. My gentleman driver, Manuel, was knowledgeable with a quick wit. Manuel knew the best spots to take terrific shots with my camera- and he took some excellent photos of me as well. As a single traveler, it was refreshing to have someone to chat with- he spoke English fluently. It was fun to watch people's faces light up when they saw the motorbike and side car. I waved to them all and they returned the wave! This was a highlight of my trip- you should do it, too!

The vintage bikes were sure to please. My 10 and 13 year old Grandkids loved it. It was comfortable for the four of us. The guides were flexible to the weather and our train schedule from Paris. The guides also were concerned for our comfort as we stopped for rain gear change. The scenery is magnificent and the war information with a map to show where the landings took place was a good visual guide. I would do this trip again!
