Amsterdam: Keukenhof & Dutch Countryside Small Group Tour

1. Amsterdam: Keukenhof & Dutch Countryside Small Group Tour

The highlight of this tour is the breathtakingly beautiful Keukenhof, with gardens featuring more than 400 acres of flowers, trees, and fountains. Truly the home of the tulip. After spending about 3,5 hours in the gardens, continue to the windmill village Zaanse Schans. Watch live demonstrations of artisans at work, including a clog maker crafting the famous wooden shoes of the Netherlands. There will be some free time to explore the village on your own before traveling through the distinctive polders of the Beemster area. The tour ends in the beautiful seaside village of Volendam. This traditional Dutch fishing village has been a popular tourist attraction since 1875. It is best known for its beautifully painted wooden houses perched on docks overlooking canals that line the water. Tulips wonderful but the tour to the cheese & windmills had issues

Guide was very nice but not very informative - keep asking us if we had questions. He should have had a plan in place and telling us about where we were going and about Amsterdam, etc. Cheese place quick and nice however it is a place they stop so you will spend money. The windmill village had this same type of cheese demonstration. Not enough time in the windmills to visit them all and we did not even get to see the wooden shoe maker because our guide asked us to wait until the end and then 3 buses showed up and he said you can wait but it will be long wait now and suggested we not. When we first arrived at the village there was no one at the wooden shoe demo and no reason for us to have missed it. Keukenhof was wonderful and we did have enough time there.

Our grandson was most happy about the Benley and our tour guide got on really well with our 13 year old and knew what interests these guys. Our tour guide was very personable, knew very well about Amsterdam and showed us Amsterdam that we didn't know before. A wonderful, full day. Anytime again and our best recommendation to our guide. We had a lot of fun !!!
