Full description

Immerse yourself in Belfast's troubled political history through its murals on a guided black taxi tour. Listen to challenging narratives and personal recollections from your accredited guide as you journey through the most important locations in the city's past, including the Falls and Shankill Roads.

After getting picked up from your hotel, head to your first stop, the world-famous Crown Liquor Saloon, a designated National Trust property. Travel by black taxi to the Falls Road, where you can see the Welcome Wall which will set the scene for the rest of your tour.

Visit the International Wall which marks entry into Republican West Belfast. As you drive around this area, listen to remarkable stories from your guide. Your next stop is the Hunger Strike Mural featuring Bobby Sands. Hop back into the taxi to travel to Bombay Street's Clonard Martyrs Memorial Garden.

Continue your tour by entering Loyalist Belfast, starting by signing your name on the Peace Wall before driving along the Shankill Road. Here, see many memorial murals of UVF and UFF Volunteers and learn about the Battle of the Boyne as explained through the William of Orange mural.

Finish your tour with a visit to some of the city's lesser-known murals before getting dropped off back at your hotel.

Great visit! Hugh listens and likes to share his extensive knowledge of murals. He was able to put our children at ease and we took the time to fully understand and translate to them everything he told us. A great activity in Belfast! I recommend +++

Cannot speak highly enough about Hugh. He spoke very fairly about both political sides of the Troubles and answered all our questions. Although this was a tour about a very serious time, he kept things light when he could. We learned so much! Highly recommend him.
