Full description
The tour starts after you meet at the front gates of Belfast's City Hall. Your guide will help you understand how the city developed from a small settlement to the Northern Powerhouse in Ireland. You'll hear about the major industries based in Belfast and how they played a part in the partition of Ireland. After you get your bearings at the city hall you'll visit the Titanic Memorial and the war memorial plus the main sites associated with the Linen industry and the Victorian period. You'll discover the major figures from Belfast and find out how religions impacted Ireland and Ulster in particular. You then move to some of the oldest parts of town including the Cathedral Quarter and High Street areas. Your guide will point out some amazing street art along the way and tell you the stories behind some of the stand-out pieces. You'll hear about famous people, times and places and you'll discover how the legacy of the troubles has changed the landscape of the area. You then visit the Laganside (waterfront) area and learn how the city has changed in recent years and how the Titanic disaster has been turned into a success that has stimulated tourism and business in Belfast. Your guide will tell funny and some moving stories that will help you understand how Belfast's people survived the Troubles conflict and how they still live in a place that has hidden political and social divisions. Your tour will end back at the gates of the City Hall.

Aiden was very knowledgable and easy to listen to and understand. The tour lasted 2 hours and I felt I saw most places of interest. Very reasonably priced.
