Full description
Start the tour at the main entrance of the TV Tower in Alexanderplatz. From there, take the train to Potsdam. Once there, you will leisurely explore the various palaces and gardens of Potsdam and Sanssouci, covering about 10 miles (16km) in roughly 4.5 hours. Explore the Prussian palace complex of Sanssouci, home to the famous Orangerie, two palaces, as well as many beautiful gardens, parks, and buildings. Then make your way through Potsdam’s historic center, including the Dutch Quarter and Potsdam’s own Brandenburg Gate. In the New Gardens, see the fantastic Marble Palace, before going to Cecilienhof, where Truman, Stalin, and Churchill concluded the Potsdam Agreement. Finally, explore the area’s extensive Cold War history with a visit to the no-man’s land between West Berlin and East Germany and over the Glienicke Bridge where Cold War spy exchanges routinely took place.

Well organized and at a relaxing pace. Met at Alexander Platz and travelled by train to Potsdam approx 35min. Bikes are collected and dropped off at Potsdam station. The guide was very knowledgeable and could even answer historic questions stretching beyond the Potsdam region. The stories were a combinations of cold hard history but also light hearted facts. The bikes were a breeze to ride even for a novice like me. I would recommend a bike tour when visiting Potsdam as you are able to cover a lot of the town at a comfortable pace.

What a great day! We were a bit worried, starting out in the rain & with small children joining the tour, but Ronin kept a pace we could all enjoy. His stories were both informative and amusing! When more contextual depth was needed, he was able to provide that, too.

fabulous day, educational, welll informed guide, : highly recommended

We spent a very enjoyable day, in glorious sunshine cycling from castle to castle and round the lake. It is very easy to be focussed on the second WW/Hitler and the Holocaust and the Cold War/Wall and Cecilienhof does deliver a special experience to enhance that knowledge, but the Prussian History and the family dynamics was a refreshing insight and new dimension to our knowledge of Germany. Our guide was very knowledgeable. The scenery was stunning. Lunch was good with different menu options to suit different budgets and tastes. Bikes were comfy albeit clearly a bit tired and not as new as some others we had hired elsewhere. I wouldn't have wanted to cycle any faster or much further.. it was over 20km and any faster would have made it more of an endurance event for me!
