Full description
Visit Berns beautiful medieval old town and learn about its history and the history of the Swiss confederation from the foundation period until today. Our guides are well versed in Switzerlands history, politics, tradition and contemporary life. Switzerland is unique in many ways. From conscription to the dual education system to the unique political instruments like referendums, motions or initiatives - we go all the way so that you will have a very in depth introduction to our beautiful country. Did you know for example that the Swiss voted no on a bill that guaranteed 6 weeks of holidays for everyone in a votation 2012. Did you know that the Swiss neutrality dates back to the 16th century. On our tour we interweave the history of our country with the manifold sites of Bern: Zytglogge, bear pit, federal palace of Switzerland, cathedral, historical museums and some strange fountains. We like our tours to be interactive and are open to discuss or answer any questions you might have about Switzerland: languages, culture, sports, music etc.
