Situated on the Monte Guardia, the Sanctuary connects to the city center through the longest continuous portico in the world, made up of 666 arcades. At the meeting point, you'll receive a map and a timetable of the return train, which is available every 45 minutes. You’ll also receive a voucher for the food tasting.  This tour departs every day and will help you discover the city from aboard the San Luca Express train, where the audio guides, available in 8 languages, will tell you about the city until your arrival at the Basilica of San Luca. Embark on a unique three-four hour culinary adventure in the Capital Food City. Join fellow participants in mastering the art of crafting Tagliatelle pasta with authentic ragù, all under the guidance of a skilled local sfoglina (teacher). Start with a welcoming aperitif of Mortadella, Crescenta, and Pignoletto—a perfect icebreaker to get to know each other and discover Italian gastronomy in a traditional Bolognese kitchen, right in the city centre! Next, you'll prepare a Casoni spritz, a unique cocktail made with local herbs and recipes, setting it apart from international brands. Then, we'll begin making the pasta dough by hand—no machines here; you are the engine that will bring energy to the rolling pin! Using locally sourced ingredients, eggs & flour, you'll shape and cook your pasta, which will be perfectly paired with our house-made ragù. Once the pasta is dry, between a toast and another, we'll cook it together and combine it with the ragù and parmigiano reggiano 24 months aged, all accompanied by local red wine, San Giovese! n our Secret Food Tour: Bologna, we'll provide you with an unforgettable taste experience. We'll take you to a small trattoria to sample the traditional Ragù alla Bolognese (Bolognese sauce), sample and learn why the authentic Parmigiano Reggiano is so special, sip 8-12-24 year-old balsamic vinegar from Modena, enjoy a carefully selected Charcuterie sampler from Emilia-Romagna and enjoy homemade, fresh pasta is created by Bologna's very own sfogline (pasta-makers). We'll start with a traditional welcoming sweet. Then, we'll visit one of the oldest Salumeria of the city to learn more about the local meat products and the famous pastas. You'll enjoy: Parmigiano Reggiano, Prosciutto di Parma, Mortadella di Bologna and many more regional cold cuts in the oldest Osteria in the world with a glass of our local wine. Next we have planned a taste of fresh, handmade pasta made just for us at a local Trattoria, always with a glass of local wine. Then we will visit the main local food market, called Quadrilatero, and we'll enjoy a tasting of different types of balsamic vinegar from Modena (8-12-25 years of aging) to discover how this amazing tradition is still deeply rooted in this region. And to end the tour on a sweet note, we will finish our culinary adventure with a traditional artisanal gelato, one of the best ones in the city.
