Located in one of Rome’s largest parks, the villa was commissioned in the early 1600s by the nephew of Pope Paul V, Cardinal Scipione Borghese. He used the villa to house his extensive art collection, before it was established as a public museum in 1903. A passionate guide will tell you interesting facts about the artists and their art as you wander the decorative rooms in a small group of no more than 6 people. We highly recommend this tour of the Borghese Museum and this company. Luca made the tour one of the highlights of our trip. We have been to many museums around the world and this museum and the time with Luca was unique. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about each piece that he described to us. After the tour he even gave us some new locations to check out in the area. Thank you Luca!
Skip the long lines to one of Rome’s most popular museums on a 2-hour guided tour of the Museo e Galleria Borghese (Borghese Gallery). Housed in a stunning villa just outside the Porta Pinciana, the collection has been described as the “Queen of all Private Art Collections.” One of the most interesting, charming, elegant and compact art museums in Rome, the collection is neither chronologically arranged, nor very ordinate. Instead, it is a personal, lovingly matched collection that reveals the personalities and tastes of 2 people: Gian Lorenzo Bernini, the greatest of the Baroque artists; and Scipione Cardinal Borghese, the greatest art collector, who initiated the Roman Baroque. Explore his passion for art, for which he had an infallible instinct, and his unscrupulousness in obtaining the works of art he wanted to posses. Highlights of the museum are many, but include Raffaello's “Wom...
Very informative and the guide didn't just state the obvious facts about the art... Totally recommended
The Borghese Gallery is home to an incredible collection of art by masters such as Bernini, Caravaggio, Raphael, and Canova. Spend 2.5 hours touring the mansion with an expert guide. As you walk from room to room your guide will tell you some fascinating stories behind iconic works such as Raphael’s Entombment. One of the most appealing aspects of a Borghese Gallery visit is the museum’s small size. It’s feasible to cover the entire collection in time allotted. The small-group size of 15 or fewer people also keeps the experience intimate and friendly, so you can chat freely with your guide without disturbing the tranquility of the gallery. Access to Villa Borghese is limited to a certain number of visitors at any given time, making for a relaxed experience, but also creating a high level of demand. Securing Borghese tickets can be difficult, which is why you will benefit from reserve...
The Borghese Gallery is a treat for the senses with an incredible selection of works by Bernini and Caravaggio, among many others. The visit was made even better because of our guide Tiberius. He is one of the most passionate and knowledgeable guide I’ve ever experienced. Definitely highly recommended and with the same guide!

Well done with an excellent guide for small group. Would highly recommend. Only concern was the GYG coordinator didn't have our operator listed, and we started to worry if our guide would appear. Thankfully, he did.
Because of the coronavirus restrictions, the visit was limited to 2 hours, which is too little for such an unbelievable collection and the excellent Hirst exhibition. Otherwise than that, everything was perfect.
Beautiful venue! The timed entry controls how many are allowed to enter the gallery. If you circle back around closer to the end of your allotted time you can have the rooms to yourself. Absolutely exquisite!
Very easy to exchange the voucher for tickets. You will need to leave any bags larger than a small purse at the coat check.
Excellent, even if there was no audio guide for the covid speech.
