Full description

Wander along the same cobblestone streets as Paul Revere once did, pass through bustling markets where Sam Adams peddled the idea of revolution. Visit historic bars that have been frequented by Bostonians for hundreds of years.

Revisit the story of America's birth and raise a glass as you learn the importance of beer in the founding of America. This historic pub crawl reveals hidden history about the events leading up to the revolutionary war and takes you where it all started: taverns.

The four historic taverns visited on the tour are in the Faneuil Hall area and provide a wonderful backdrop as expert guides tell stories about Boston's rebellious past that helped lead to America's independence.

Each tavern dates back at least to the 1800s, several even further which includes America's oldest tavern.

At each tavern, your guide will recommend beer as unique as the history of the city. Most of the beers are exclusively served in Boston and several can only be found in the taverns visited on the tour.

This was the highlight of my week in Boston-the taverns were good fun and very close to each other, the beer was good, but our guide Gaby was just the best. I’m not usually much for American history but I got home from my trip and tried to remember every delightful fact I learned to my husband and resigned to just come back to Boston with him and take him on the tour.

The historic pub crawl was one of my favorite activities from my visit to Boston. My cousin (21f) and I (32f) did this tour together, with a small group of other travelers. The tour required proof of vaccination which allowed us to feel comfortable enjoying a few beers with our fellow travelers. The tour itself was SUPER informative with a lot of fun history on the city and nearby landmarks in addition to the pubs we visited and I had way too much fun helping to translate parts of the stories shared by our guide for some friends I made in the group who were from Argentina and spoke limited English.

This was a great way to explore a small part of Boston! Bars are close in proximity to each other and the recommended beers were awesome. Guide was very accommodating to people’s preferences and was also very knowledgeable on the history of Boston. We learned a lot, met some cool people, and had a wonderful time! I would recommend this tour. Only suggestion for improvement is to post which part of the Freedom Trail is covered/which bars the tour includes so people can plan the rest of their trips accordingly! We did this as the last part of our Boston experience so did not do much else along the Freedom Trail thinking most information would be covered during this tour. This tour covers a very small portion of the trail so there is definitely more room to explore the rest of the Freedom Trail without overlapping information.
