Prague: Czech Beer Tasting

1. Prague: Czech Beer Tasting

The Czech Republic has the highest beer consumption per capita in the world and the people have the traditions to back it up. In 850, there is evidence that hops were being grown in the Czech lands. The first recorded brewing was in 990 AD, by Bohemian monks, at the Břevnov Monastery near Prague Castle. Now, you can explore and contribute to 1,500 years of continuous love of beer with a 1-5-hour Czech beer tasting experience. Sample beers from 3 major, mass-producing Czech breweries and 4 specialty beers from local Prague microbreweries and brew houses. Enjoy these beers and their pairing with Hermelín cheese–a Czech cheese that can be pickled, deep-fried, or grilled–and crackers. You will also learn about how to properly taste, evaluate, and savor beer.

It was a great experience, overall! Peter was really helpful and reached out to us with some specific recommendations on going about the tour differently. And I’m glad I took his recommendation. Had a great time with Rene (I hope I’m spelling that right!) taking us through Prague, and telling us just enough for us to consume, enjoy and remember hopefully! Must recommend!

The guide made this tour. A super cheerful New Zealander who created a great atmosphere from the first moment. Full of energy, humor and interaction with the group, he told us all about the most famous Czech beers. Highly recommended!

Steve was a great guide throughout the tasting that made us all enjoy. It was enlightening in an easy way and I think that everyone, despite a little tingling, felt suck comfortable.

Steven was just amazing! Super personable, entertaining, interesting and delicious! I can only recommend it!

Yana was very knowledgeable and interesting! That was the best excursion!
