Travel back in time to the Middle Ages! The Historium – Bruges’ most visited attraction – lets you step back in time. Get a glimpse of how lively Bruges was during the Golden Age in various ways. In the Historium Story you'll follow the love story of Jacob, Jan van Eyck’s apprentice, as you wander through this spectacular attraction with film, backdrops and special effects. In the interactive Historium Exhibition you will find additional information about Mediaeval Bruges or you can get started on the wacky Family Trail. Time travel back to the year 1435 in the Historium Virtual Reality and sail virtually into the port of Bruges! You will see how the Waterhalle and Belfort tower looked in the past and can fly over the Market Square to the former St. Donatian’s Cathedral. It is a truly exhilarating experience.

  • The Historium Bruges and all its facilities are wheelchair accessible. One wheelchair is available for use at the Historium Ticket Office, free of charge
  • In the interests of safety and hygiene, pets are not allowed in the Historium Bruges
  • For security reasons, the Historium Bruges is not recommended for people who suffer from claustrophobia. If you still want to visit, it is recommended that you speak to the person in charge at the front desk first
  • Minimum age is 3 years.
  • Recommended minimum age for the Historium Virtual Reality is 11 years. Younger visitors are also allowed if accompanied by an adult.
  • Information about museums, bus and train times, walking tours etc. can be found at the Tourist Information Point, open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, except December 25 and January 1

Eine kurzweilige nette Einführung über Brügge im 15. Jahrhundert, nicht hoch intellektuell. Danach geht man eine gute halbe Stunde automatisiert durch verschiedene Räume und wird anhand des jungen Protagonisten Jakob (Schüler von Jan van Eyck) Und seine Geschichte in die Fantasie der damaligen Zeit geführt. Danach interaktive Schautafeln, Geschichten, auch für Kinder geeignet. Fazit: nicht der Wahnsinns Wow-Effekt, aber wir würden es wieder machen.

Tolles modernes Museum. Die Reise durch das Jahr 1435 mit dem "Lehrling" Jakob durch verschiedene liebevoll gestaltete Räume mit einer über Videoeinspielungen erzählte Geschichte ist ein Highlight der Stadt. Ein wirklich kurzweiliger Museumsbesuch, der einen in eine andere Zeit der Stadt mitnimmt.

Super Museum, um mit Kindern dahinzugehen! Es ist kurzweilig, interessant und lehrreich. Alle unsere 4 Kinder (7, 10, 12, 15) hatten Spass im Museum und es keine klassischen Museums-Situationen (wie Z. B. "nicht anfassen!" oder ähnliches). Langeweile kam nie auf und die Kinder erzählten später anderen Leuten, wie toll es gewesen ist.
