Full description
On this unforgettable tour along the Blue Danube you will make scenic stops in Visegrád, Esztergom, and Szentendre. In Visegrád: walk close the 750 year-old stones of the former Royal Residence (entrance fee not included). Learn about life in the Middle Ages, and enjoy the fascinating panorama of the Danube valley. At Esztergom, the northern gate of Budapest, stands the center of the Catholic Church. Visit the largest cathedral in Hungary which is also the burial place of the country's most famous cardinals such as Primate József Mindszenty. Afterwards, glance across the river and enjoy the view over Slovakia. On the way back stop by the artist's village of Szentendre. It is a small baroque city at the gate of the Danube Bend, at the meeting place of the river Danube and the Pilis mountains, situated in a beautiful natural environment. Places we went to were nice. Trip was organized. However, the guide would benefit from learning how to become more exciting. Youtube /Internet is full of good suggestions. Also more clarification is required on program of the day, and what each place would offer. We figured things on our own.

SPECIAL

We was a little group. Even time was not so frendly our guide Gyuri make us to feel very well; he was not only a perfect profesional but also a very kind and warm person. All 3 villages are in category "must to see", full of history. Since we were on Christmas days every place was special, relaxant and joyfull.

Great chance to see historic sites outside of Budapest

I totally enjoyed this trip. It was well organized and the guide was extremely knowledgeable. As with any group tour, it is a challenge to balance the time for individual exploring and the need for the group to move on. I felt I had enough time to explore the towns, but wished I had more time at the large church. If you want to go to the top of it, then don't delay, don't buy admission to anything else, and make sure you are in good shape! Oh, and the lunch was delicious.
