Full description
Escape the crowds in Venice and hop on a boat bound for the three most famous Venetian islands: Murano, Burano, and Torcello. Set sail from Punta Sabbioni and make a quick stop in Venice to pickup other tour participants before heading to Murano. Enjoy the beautiful views of the lagoon and its scattered islands while learning about the history of Venice and the islands you will visit from your expert guide. Once in Murano, you will have an hour and a half to explore the island, world famous for its long tradition of glass-making. Choose to attend a 15 minute demonstration by a master glassmaker and pick up some local glass handicrafts or visit the Cathedral of Santa Maria and Donato and wander the town's quaint streets. Move on to Burano where you will have about two hours to take in views of the island's famous colored houses. Peruse the shops selling renowned Burano lace and visit workshops where it is common to see women intent on embroidering various lace products. Enjoy the mesmerizing backdrop of vividly colored houses, flowered balconies, fishermen coming and going in their boats, and the leaning bell tower. Eat lunch wherever you choose or get tips from your local guide on the best spots for different budgets. Finally, make an hour-long stop at Torcello. Once the most populated island in the Republic of Venice and the trading center of the city, Torcello was gradually abadoned over the centuries and today has just over 10 inhabitants. Enjoy the sleepy, bucolic setting of this ideal island getaway from the hustle and bustle of Venice. Check out the Cathedral of Santa Maria dell'Assunta, the Devil's Bridge, the Church of Santa Fosca, and the ancient stone chair called Attila's Throne.

Very positive experience. The places visited are truly spectacular. Excellent punctuality, organization and a very prepared guide. If I have to give advice to the organization, an hour of time in Murano with a visit to the glass artisans is somewhat limited, if there was the possibility I would increase the stay on the island by at least half an hour.

We started from Punta Sabbioni. I recommend starting from here, you can park 2 steps from the pier with moderate prices (5/7 € per day). We chose the 6 hour tour. We appreciated the punctuality, the rules respected on board, the cleanliness. The first stop in Murano included a glass blowing demonstration, a visit to the shop and a 1 hour tour of the town. Second stop Burano, we stayed on the island for 2 hours, perfect time for a quick lunch, tour, shopping and visit of the Church. Last stop Torcello with a 1 hour stop, just to enjoy the tranquility of this island, we did not visit the inside of the church, but only because we preferred to relax in the park in front. During the trip the guide Andrea accompanied us describing the various stages with anecdotes, curiosities and historical details.

3 island tour of the islands of the Lagoon

This tour gives you enough time to see all 3 islands. The guide does try and explain all the landmarks, whilst on the boat, but she can hardly be heard. Would it be possible to give out something written as well ? She did make it clear what time to be back at the boat. The guide does not accompany you on the island. You would not expect this ,with the cost of the trip. All told I would recommend this tour
