    Discover the lush rainforest of Green Island on this half-day tour and encounter some of the many marine animals that call the island home. Climb aboard the modern, air-conditioned 24-meter catamaran "Reef Rocket" to cruise over to this idyllic part of the Great Barrier Reef, and enjoy a full-day reef tour just 45-minutes from Cairns. Snorkel and dive among the reef fish and coral gardens, or stay dry on a spectacular semi-submersible submarine or glass-bottom boat to discover the underwater life in comfort. Alternatively, simply laze on the white sandy beach and soak up the sun.

    Water was crystal clear the day we visited, also very calm, hardly a wave evident. Abundant sea life and coral formations directly beside the jetty, easy to snorkel around. You can get about 1 hour 30 mins snorkeling in on the half day trip, perfect for us an exceeded our expectations.

    We were very disappointed at first when we didn't see much while snorkeling at first. When we then went to the other strand and swam further out we saw a lot of corals, small and large fish and an octopus. Don't expect to see the Reef's picture-book performance, though. Nevertheless, very impressive and recommended at any time. We hadn't booked a guide (we didn't realize that wasn't included) I can imagine that you can benefit even more with a guide. Drive to Green Island was very pleasant even if the boat was totally full.

    We had a great time on Green Island and the staff were helpful and pleasant. My only negative on the whole thing is that I wish we booked the full day trip. Half a day is not long enough to snorkel and explore the island. Highly recommend taking this excursion.
