  • Santa Catalina Island: Nautilus Semi-Submarine Cruise

    6. Santa Catalina Island: Nautilus Semi-Submarine Cruise

Join the captain and crew and set off on a 45-minute exploratory mission through Lover's Cove, a State Marine Conservation Area sanctuary. Traverse amazing undersea gardens and ocean habitats in a semi-submersible vessel designed after America's first nuclear-powered submarine, the USS Nautilus, on a trip that is both educational and entertaining. Let your imagination descend into the depths of the ocean as you explore the magic and wonder of undersea life on the Nautilus. Venture into the ocean and through the kelp forest in a state-of-the-art vessel. Learn about what you see with the crew and research team, and let them entertain you with their stories. As you learn and explore, interact with the fish through a specially designed feeding system. Launch fish food torpedoes right from your seat (at an additional cost) and instigate feeding frenzies right outside your personal porthole.

Such a unique experience. My husband and I travel often and have never done anything like this! They take you to three different spots and you can see the kelp and different fish. Although you do see the same fish and kelp at each spot, it was still pretty awesome to see the fish up that close. I don't foresee myself ever snorkeling or scuba diving, so it was amazing to see the oceanlife. The guide was informative but he was not required to wear a mask, so him coming up to talk to us was a bit unsettling. Also, if you order mobile tickets you are still required to checkin and get your tickets printed. Overall excellent experience and highly recommend if visiting Catalina island!

This surf lesson really made our trip to Ventura special! It was a really fun lesson and our guide, Quincy, was excellent and patient with us beginner surfers. He first showed us how to pop up on the sand before going into the water and then once we were out there, he guided us through which waves to take and when to pop up. He was also really nice and good to talk to between waves. It was great that the wetsuit was included because the water was a little cold and that they had us use foam surfboards. It was pretty easy to stand up on the boards they provided. Overall, loved this experience and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun beach activity. 10/10!

Have not been back for 30 years brought my beautiful niece there who had a fantastic time it was very very nice beautiful as usual CLEAN everybody was very nice except the two men I didn’t get their names in the information booth that tells you where to go to get on the bus they were really not very helpful rude and didn’t talk and look in your face when they spoke with you so I hope you can give them a little talking to their old enough to know betterThey actually acted like you were imposing on them to ask them a question remind them they should be glad that they have a job thank you for the wonderful event

Loved every minute! The bus ride is great and the choreography ice cream treat hit the spot. Love the care you take making your enclosures large and more lifelike
