Full description
Taking a cooking class is no doubt one of the best things to do in Cancún. After getting picked up from your hotel, head straight to one of busiest markets in Cancún with your chef. Delight your senses as you stroll through different food sections and immerse yourself in the scents of different herbs, vegetables, meat and seafood. Your chef will show you how to choose the freshest items for your cooking class. Once you arrive at the venue, refreshments, fresh fruit and water or coffee will be provided. The venue provides an intimate setting at one of the best Mexican restaurants in Cancún which opened more than 40 years ago. Spend the next 3 hours learning the tricks behind great Mexican traditional cooking and the origins of each dish. Experience a real Mexican kitchen using traditional tools like molcajete (stone mortar), comal (flat griddle) and clay pots.

We enjoyed this cooking class overall. The only negative aspect is that the instructions say pickup between 8-9 AM. It was the day of, when we were calling and calling to see where our ride was, did we learn it was actually scheduled for 9:45AM. Little things like that, I wish we wouldve known before either in an email or text. The walking and cultural part of the tour was amazing, definitely our favorite part. We made guacamole, 2 kinds of salsa, and 3 small main courses. The instructor was great but I felt like he definitely needed an assistant because he was running around a lot and that would have allowed him more time to teach us about the ingredients/cultural aspect of the dishes. Also, I wish we were able to each have our own stations to learn/cook with, but 3 people had to share one cutting board. Overall like I said we enjoyed it but if we went back Id opt for a different course.

If you want to truly see Cancun, this is the way to do it. Our guide, Nassim, was extremely knowledgeable and eager to share what Cancun has to offer. We were able to have authentic Mexican cuisine and learn to make it at home as well. Nassim made the class fun and inclusive of everyone in attendance. We all highly recommend!

A very nice experience. The visit to the market was so out of the touristic Cancun we, as tourists, know. Much appreciated. All the informations provided by our guide were interesting. She (the guide and the chef) was sooo pleasant and kind. Her explanations for the recipes and the cultural aspects of mexican cuisine were very interesting (excuse my limited english vocabulary). The food (and the margarita) were amazing. The restaurant that hosted us (La Parilla) is fantastic and so authentic and beautiful. We intend to sprend our last night there. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
