You’ll be into the adjacent open kitchen to stand around the large paellera, the traditional round, shallow pan made of polished steel that the paella de marisco will be prepared in. As the chef begins to prepare the paella you’ll hear about the history of the dish, the ingredients used, and the steps in the preparation. With the paella simmering in the kitchen you’ll be invited over to the bar where you’ll learn all there is to know about sangría, the world famous Iberian wine punch that dates back to medieval times. Try your hand at mixing your own sangría. What people are saying about Catalonia

Our tour guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and showed us some really unique items at the Bouqueria Mercado. He purchased some fresh veggies and then - off to cook some delicious paella and a few other dishes! I learned a few new cooking tricks, too. We left with a full belly, a smile on our faces and the recipes, too, so we can cook paella at home, too. This class was the highlight of our visit to Barcelona and I highly recommend!

This was a wonderful class, one of our favorite things we did on this trip. We went to the boqueria to gather the seafood for our paella, and this market was incredible. The class was very interactive and our chef was very knowledgeable. The paella and sangria were delicious. I would do this again if I come back to Barcelona!

Superb experience, the guides really make the difference for this activity, they take care of you. I highly recommend if you want a day combining discovery, sport and a change of scenery. If you are French, don't worry, Fabio and his wife speak French very well. Thanks again to them.
