    At a height of 3,320 meters above sea level and a diameter of over 40 kilometers, Etna is the largest active volcano in Europe. Explore the volcano and the town of Taormina on a full-day tour. Visit Monti Rossi, responsible for the major eruption in 1669, and see a lava stone quarry. Take a short, moderate hike at Crateri Silvestri (2,000 meters above sea level). Put on a helmet and grab a flashlight to explore a lava tube. Stop at a 1992 eruption, taste local products and visit the village of Zafferana for lunch. Enjoy a walking tour along Taormina’s narrow streets, and see the Greek theater, the cathedral, the botanical garden and more.

    Alessio was funny and really flexible in what we wanted to do and where to pick us up/drop us off. Really great guy! We went to some really cool sites along etna and taormina that were really stunning. The trip was informative and fun! It definitely was the highlight of our italy trip.

    We had a great day with Allessio. He generously shared his great knowledge of Mount Etna with us. We were also able to taste products from the region: oils, honeys, wines. Delicious! In the afternoon he took us to Taormina, a charming little town where we spent some free time.

    Alessio was brilliant. He was extremely knowledgeable and made even the car journey interesting. He took us to a few different sites on Etna and into a lava tube. He arranged a nice restaurant for lunch and then took us to Taomina. Got a good couple of hours here which is all you really need. He also does other tours on Sicily so will definitely look him up next time we visit.
