Full description
Here the architectures mix in Gothic, Norman and Baroque styles but it's the Moorish and Arabs who have left the strongest trace. They say that Palermo is hard to describe, it's a sensual, fascinating and chaotic city. It is one of those cities with its own atmosphere, a place of mystery where reality often outperforms the traveler's imagination.  The guide will explain some of the city's wonders and a stroll at your own pace will allow you to take in the flavors of this magnificent city. This tour is a walking tour through the main squares and street markets of the city center that allows travelers to sample the best Palermitan street food. Along the walk participants enter places hung out only by real Sicilians, such as bakeries and old inns. All places have been selected to offer travelers the most authentic street food. The group will be constituted with a maximum of ten participants in order to let people enjoy the walk. This tour isn't just for food! Itineraries are designed to offer travelers a complete overview on the history, arts, food and traditions of Palermo. Tour guides provide historical information on the monuments and churches visible along the walk and share with travelers the most intimate secrets of local cuisine and habits.

Apart from the fact that the tour did not last "approx. 5 hours", but approx. 8 hours, we were very negatively surprised by the size of the group (a full coach, including a long tour to the different hotels to collect the people). The description of the tour suggested a small group. The tour guide, on the other hand, did her job well - depending on the circumstances.

After we were initially surprised to be such a large group, the trip was very well organized and very interesting with lots of background information. Thanks to our guide Esther
