My wife and I had a fantastic day on this trip with our guide Alan. We happened to be the only two people on the tour that day, so we got a private experience at our own pace. The pickup from CDMX was smooth, and our guide prepared two backpacks for us with plenty of water and snacks. We started off the hike at a gentle pace to get used to the altitude, and our guide was very patient and encouraging when we needed to take breaks. The weather on the day was stunning, and we had amazing views of both volcanoes, especially Popocatepetl which was frequently smoking with small eruptions. The landscape was wonderful and it was great to be out of the city and in nature. On the way back Alan took us to a local food stall (included in our ticket) where we had some incredible tacos and quesidillas. Overall this was a wonderful experience I would recommend to anyone.

This trek was one of the highlights of our trip to Mexico City! It was great to get out of town for a day. The hike was perfect— a workout, but not grueling. 7 or 8 miles and approx. 1,000 ft of climbing (starting around 12,000 ft). Fantastic scenery, especially of Popocateptl, and our guide was friendly and knowledgable.

Carlos was very friendly, energized and explained everything. We set off from the city, it takes 2 hours to get there. The track was easy, we did 14 km in total. There was no big hike, mostly on narrow path (good for people who are not used to high altitude). Views were amazing though. We chose the track with a nice small waterfall. As the track was easy, you can wear sneakers, you wont need any special shoes, but bring a jacket!
