Cerro Campanario: Our most recommended tours and activities

Circuito Chico

1. Circuito Chico

A popular tour of Bariloche, this half-day circular route begins in the city and heads out to Lake Nahuel Huapi and Playa Bonita. From Playa Bonita you’ll be able to see Huemul Island. When you reach the foot of Cerro Campanario there’s a chairlift that takes people to the summit (1,050 meters). If you choose to take this optional ride to the top you’ll marvel at some of the most spectacular views of the region. The circuit continues on the San Pedro peninsula to the Llao Llao area. Admire St. Edward’s Chapel, an architectural jewel, and head to Puero Scarf on Lake Nahuel Huapi, where sailing excursions on the lake depart. To the south are stunning views of the Llao Llao Hotel, framed by the Chapel Hill and Cerro Lopez. When you arrive at Panorama Point you’ll admire the lovely views of the Llao Llao peninsula and surrounding lakes. Next you’ll cross the bridge over Lake Moreno that connects the lake with the Llao Llao peninsula and follow the route around Laguna El Treboll, before returing to the city of Bariloche.

Bariloche: Cerro Campanario Chairlift Ticket

2. Bariloche: Cerro Campanario Chairlift Ticket

Travel hassle-free by pre-booking your chairlift ticket to Cerro Campanario, the most famous hill in Bariloche. At 3,444 feet above sea level, Cerro allows you to appreciate one of the most beautiful views of the region. Look out over Nahuel Huapi and Perito Moreno lakes, El Trébol Lagoon, San Pedro and Liao Llao peninsulas, Victoria Island, the Otto, López, Goye, Catedral, the Capilla hills, and the wonderful Cor Dillerano, the surroundings of the city of San Carlos de Bariloche.  What makes Cerro Campanário unique is that it has several viewpoints and not just one, allowing you to admire the landscapes from different angles. Take your time ruminating on the magical views in a peaceful setting. At the top of the hill there is also a cafeteria, in case you want to warm up with a coffee or hot chocolate.

We were picked up at around 8.30 by a minibus from our location in the Bariloche city centre and the tour lasted around 4 hours. The guide, Flor, was super nice and very knowledgeable, and she kept everyone entertained as she engaged with the passengers. We did a few stops and had a chance to go up Cerro Campanario for some amazing views. We went to a sightseeing spot where you can appreciate the traditional Llao Llao hotel and a snowy Cerro Tronador in the distance. I was travelling with my 69 yo mum for a very short break from Buenos Aires, so it was ideal as it didn't involve much walking but you could still have an overview of what Bariloche has to offer. On our return we were taken back to our original locations, though there was the option of being dropped off on the way. I highly recommend this experience, we truly enjoyed it (mind you, the tour is in Spanish, I don't know if they offer it in English).

Beautiful place! Unfortunately, as we were with a group and a guide, it was very quick to get to know, just 30 minutes. Next time we'll go by car and spend more time enjoying the place!

Quick 4h ride , very good , beautiful landscapes , the cable car showed a stunning lake . Take cash , for the cable car .

Spectacular, I recommend it to be the first excursion to take in Bariloche.
