Great palace, but the rooms were extremely crowded with tourists

Versailles is a great and huge palace with a great garden. Unfortunately, the influx of tourists during the holiday season is also infinitely large, so that you sometimes push your way through the rooms. In connection with the heat on this August day and the fact that the staff only opened very few windows, the air was unbearably hot and stuffy at times. However, I would describe the garden tour as a tourist rip-off. We booked the tickets on Tuesdays because the water fountains should be active then. Therefore, the garden also costs admission. Admission is free on days without water features. We even had to pay admission for the child on site, since the garden, unlike the castle, is not free for children. But fountains? none. There were no water features, but entry was still charged for thousands of tourists.

Really excellent tour, would highly recommend. It was a thourough tour and interesting to learn about a family run champagne house which is still in the family! Nice to get to know a smaller house, as it felt more personal and authentic. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and warm; we had a great time seeing the cellars and even got to turn the champagne bottles. The tasting is generous and delicious, and the champagne and tour are both good value. Will come back for the picnic next time! Thanks

A well organized self guided tour of champagne life. With great insights into the historical development, management challenges and a delicious tasting of two champagnes at the end. it takes about 60-90 minutes, whereby you can set your own pace (30 minutes is also possible :) ) we used the 90 minutes. And also our children 10 & 12 years old liked it very much.

Aurore is an excellent guide who knew how to adapt to our group and share her passion for her region.

highly recommended, even if you don't know the brand (yet). 3 tastings afterwards
